Risk Management

Complex systems, (aircraft, train, submarine, nuclear facilities, …), generate multiple risks which have to be identified and managed at the level required by the customer, the market, the Authorities or even regulation.

The risk management approach consists in understanding in a global and complementary way the risks associated to the three components attached to a system, which are :

• material (mechanical, hydraulic, electric, …),
• software (control-command …),
• human factor (designers, users, maintenance staff, …),

with the consideration of the entire life-cycle of the system (design, development, exploitation, removal) and of the interactions with its environment.
